Safety Awareness Materials

The purpose of the SMACNA Safety Awareness Materials is to provide contractors and fabricators in the sheet metal and HVAC industry with training and planning materials, Infographics, Hazard Alerts, and Toolbox Talks.  These materials cover topics such as falls, struck-by, lacerations, mental health, and safety culture, and can be used for Safety Standdowns, Safety Toolbox talks, and assist with training material development.

Scott Vidimos is president of Vidimos, Inc., an industrial sheet metal shop in East Chicago, IN, which opened for business in 1946.  Scott worked part time in the shop from 1972 until 1979 when he became full time as an estimator and project manager. He progressed to treasurer/secretary and then to vice president becoming president in since 2003.

Best Practice 104: SMACNA Kansas City and SMART Local 2 Local Partnership Conference and Joint Progr

SMACNA Kansas City and SMART Local 2 came together on strategic planning efforts in order to identify and address their top concerns. Together they applied for and received funding from the national SMACNA-SMART Best Practices Market Expansion Task Force to hold a local partnership conference, where they established a structure to ensure that action items would move forward in an effort to improve market share in the Kansas City area.
