Scott Vidimos is president of Vidimos, Inc., an industrial sheet metal shop in East Chicago, IN, which opened for business in 1946. Scott worked part time in the shop from 1972 until 1979 when he became full time as an estimator and project manager. He progressed to treasurer/secretary and then to vice president becoming president in since 2003.
Scott has been heavily involved with local industry sitting as a board member of Northern Indiana Sheet Metal Contractors Association, and trustee on the local industry fund, plus trustee on the JATC and local pension fund. He helped negotiate several building trades and specialty worker agreements with Local 20 Gary Area. He was also one of four contractors working with the unions to set up an industrywide drug testing program covering over 18,000 workers.
Scott has served on various SMACNA National committees and task forces including national board member, board and executive committee nominating committees, IFUS trustee, labor panelist, and Industrial Market Sector Council. Scott worked with SMOHIT on Foreman training and Competency Based Apprentice Training curriculums.
Through the business, Scott supports several charitable and civic organizations including Down Syndrome Association Northwest Indiana, Boys and Girls Clubs, Tradewinds, and Northwest Indiana Symphony.
Scott earned Accounting and Finance BS degrees from Miami University in Ohio.
