Safety Awareness Materials

The purpose of the SMACNA Safety Awareness Materials is to provide contractors and fabricators in the sheet metal and HVAC industry with training and planning materials, Infographics, Hazard Alerts, and Toolbox Talks.  These materials cover topics such as falls, struck-by, lacerations, mental health, and safety culture, and can be used for Safety Standdowns, Safety Toolbox talks, and assist with training material development.

2025 National Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction

The Falls Campaign began in 2012 with NORA, NIOSH, CPWR, and OSHA seeking a way to raise awareness of the fact that falls are the top cause of construction fatalities and account for one-third of on-the-job injury deaths in the industry, with a disproportionate number of those occurring in the residential sector. Each year in the U.S. more than 200 construction workers are killed and over 10,000 are seriously injured by falls. Safety Awareness Videos

Each year during Construction Safety Week in May, our alliance — made up of SMACNA, MCAA, NECA and TAUC— collaborates to produce a series of safety awareness videos for the sheet metal industry. These videos cover a wide range of topics, from job site safety practices to mental health awareness, emphasizing the importance of building a culture where safety and well-being are a priority every day.

While these videos are created to support Safety Week, they are designed to be valuable resources year-round. Whether you're conducting training, leading toolbox talks, or promoting wellness initiatives, these materials offer practical insights and messages that support safer, healthier workplaces across our industry.
