The standard passive capture hood is designed primarily to read 24”x24”, step-down diffusers, of 100 CFM or more. Due to a variety of factors, including PHIUS standards and LEED Certification, the industry is now seeing TAB requirements on increasingly smaller outlets, with ultra-low CFM design requirements. Common practice is to install a Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS) to existing buildings, with hundreds of outlets of 15 CFM or less.
Again, the standard passive flow capture hood is not designed for this purpose. There are alternate methods of reading ultra-low airflow, however the Evergreen Telemetry 8” capture hood has proven to be the superior solution. With a NIST traceable range of 15-150 CFM, there is no other passive capture hood on the market that compares.
The Evergreen Telemetry capture hood also has a custom flow plate available that can give the user the ability to read to an unheard of, NIST Traceable, ultra-low, 5 CFM!
Due to multiple projects with ultra-low airflow CFM requirements, this capture hood has been put to the test and deemed acceptable by various AHJs and Commissioning Agents across the US and in Canada. The 8” hood is Made in America, comes standard with two 14x14” skirts. The 12” short skirt is ideal for getting around fixed furniture and bathroom stalls. 1’x2’ and 2x2’ skirts are available and, with our team of skilled Seamstresses on staff, we have the ability to make custom skirts to accommodate unique applications quickly. Customized skirts with your company logo and colors are also available.
As the number of ultra-low airflow inlets and outlets increase in the field, be prepared with the ultimate, ultra-low airflow tool for your TAB tool kit!
