Session Structure

Presentation: The workshop will kick off with an introduction to succession planning's significance and impact on business longevity and growth. We will identify and explain succession planning processes as defined in the NHF research project and validated by the facilitators' industry experience.

Interactive Session: This core part of the workshop will foster active learning and participant collaboration. Attendees will be divided into groups and will engage in the following activities:

  • Group Discussions: Participants will share their thoughts, experiences, and succession planning strategies, enriching the learning experience through diverse perspectives.
  • Role-Play Exercises: Attendees will have the opportunity to enact real-world scenarios and identify potential successors either by discussing their own experiences or with assigned fictional characters provided by the facilitators. This exercise provides an understanding of an integral part of succession planning. It aims to build practical skills that are immediately applicable.
  • Presentations: One group member will summarize a takeaway from their group interaction.

The workshop will conclude with a summary of key takeaways, ensuring that participants leave with a clear understanding of the essential strategies for effective succession planning. The final segment will also allow attendees to ask questions and share resources, empowering participants to continue their succession planning journey beyond the workshop.
