Dennis Leebow, the former CEO of Majestic Steel USA, passed away at age 72. During his time at the helm of Majestic Steel, he built the company from the ground up into one of the leading distributors and processors of prime carbon flat-rolled steel. Dennis founded his company in 1979 after serving as a salesman at his grandfather’s firm, Baldwin Steel, moving his family from New Jersey to the Cleveland Area. Since founding the company, Dennis and Majestic have built a strong relationship with SMACNA contractors, with Majestic growing to be the largest HVAC service center in the entire country.

On a personal level, Dennis built solid and enduring relationships with several signatory contractors in Cleveland and throughout the country. Many of these companies relied on Majestic Steel as one of their leading suppliers of galvanized steel and other assorted products. This business relationship was built on trust and friendship, values that Dennis prioritized. He was a long-time champion and friend to SMACNA, possessing a firm belief in the organization and signatory contractors. He also embraced his adopted home of Cleveland, becoming a giant in the community and stalwart fan of the Browns, Cavs, Guardians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In reflecting on Dennis’ legacy, Tom Martin, SMACNA’s Secretary-Treasurer and President of T.H. Martin, Inc., said, “Dennis Leebow was one of the strongest advocates for our industry. HVAC wasn’t simply a business line for him; it was his passion. SMACNA has lost a very dear friend.”
