SMACNA Announces Cancellation of In-Person 77th Annual Convention Due to COVID-19

SMACNA announced the cancellation of its in-person 77th Annual Convention, scheduled to be held September 27-30 in Colorado Springs, Colo., due to public health and safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Event will transform into a digital experience the week of October 13th

Chantilly, Va. (June 18, 2020) – The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA), the leader in promoting quality and excellence in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry, today announced the cancellation of its in-person 77th Annual Convention, scheduled to be held September 27-30 in Colorado Springs, Colo., due to public health and safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

SMACNA is instead working with members, industry partners and service providers, keynote speakers, instructors and many others to convert its largest event of the year into a digital experience called The SMACNA Edge Conference: A Virtual Education Forum, to be held October 13-15, 2020.  New registration information, sessions and events, and industry partner opportunities will be shared here and in Member Update with the SMACNA community in the coming weeks.

“We were excited and prepared to host a memorable, in-person SMACNA Annual Convention this September. However, after careful consideration and prioritizing the health and safety of everyone involved – including staff, volunteers, partners, members and attendees – we have made the difficult decision to transition to a virtual experience this fall,” said Vince Sandusky, SMACNA’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our team is determined to deliver the same robust educational opportunities our membership has come to expect from SMACNA, only virtually through The SMACNA Edge Conference.”

Details and new developments regarding The SMACNA Edge Conference will be shared on SMACNA’s conference website as they are finalized.
