In response to growing customer demand, Poynter Sheet Metal has expanded its business to include modular construction which also included a 55,000 square foot expansion, bringing the total facility to 160,000 square feet.

Founded in 2000, Poynter is a $90 million per year contractor that previously focused on straight line sheet metal business. Poynter specializes in HVAC, industrial and specialty metals contracting.

“Owners approached us because they had shortages of labor on jobsites, safety concerns, quality concerns, and all of that coupled together led us to build a modular construction facility,” says President Joseph Lansdell, who is also a SMACNA National past president.

Lansdell attributes part of the successful growth of the company to its involvement in a SMACNA Peer Group. “We joined a national peer group through relationships through SMACNA. That peer group has been very powerful in the evolution of changes here at Poynter.”
